Regional Center Design Guidelines
The Indianapolis Regional Design Guidelines provide a community standard
for urban design in the Regional Center. Building upon local heritage and character,
the Guidelines encourage creativity, interest, and variety in the built environment.
Adopted on March 3, 2004 by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Development Commission,
the
Indianapolis Regional
Center Plan 2020
provides the vision, direction and basis for
the
Indianapolis Regional
Center Design Guidelines
and the
Regional Center Zoning Ordinance amendment
, adopted June
19, 2008. Together, these elements provide a cohesive sequence from policy-level
planning, to the definition of evaluation criteria, to project implementation. All
are considered and referenced during the review of Regional Center development petitions.

The Guidelines Assistant is an aid for determining which of the Indianapolis Regional
Center Design Guidelines are most relevant to a proposed project. The Guidelines
